There are a few things you need to do to get your Instagram off to the right start. The little changes can give your channel the growth it needs. I'm going to share with you 5 things you need to do to take your Instagram page to the next level today!
When starting your page, take time to figure out what hashtags will help you reach your target audience to increase the reach of your posts. Using hashtags below the caption or in the first comment is more visually appealing than having it included as part of the caption. As you grow your page, continue to experiment with different hashtags to see what works best for you and your content.
2- What’s Your Style?
As Instagram is a very visual platform, you should make your page as visually pleasing as possible. Using the same signature filter and maintaining the same style of posting will give your posts a consistent style, which helps to make them instantly recognisable. Adding elements of branding will help define how the page looks and how it portrays your brand.
3- Optimise Your Name to Appear in the More Search Results
To increase the search of your Instagram profile, add a target keyword to your name. For example, if you were a vegan-foodie influencer, adding "vegan" in your name will help you pop up in searches relevant to consumers searching for a vegan online community. This is a good way to introduce yourself and become discoverable to new fans who would be searching for key terms on Instagram.
4 - Fan Engagement
A comment, like, and even a broad shout out goes a long way to show appreciation to your followers. Engaging with your audience in some capacity will encourage your followers to continue to like your content, share your post and champion your brand. Replying to comments and stories, liking the content of pages you follow and sharing your post on your Instagram story are some of the different ways you can engage
5 - Complete Your Profile
You want to optimise your profile for new visitors, this is an opportunity to create a good first impression of you and/or your brand. Add your name/business name, a good quality profile picture representative of you/your brand or business, a brief and informative bio, then follow people and interests that align with your brand. If you have a website or landing page, share the link; you should take the opportunity to have your new audience further engage with you and any services you provide.
